The rumours have been probably making their rounds. And I can confirm that, yes I have taken up a new sport: rowing. In part it’s because it’s no threat to my vulnerable right knee, in part because since it’s organized you have to go (if you don’t go seven other people are f—ed because you can only go onto the water as a full crew), while when you go jogging by yourself – you probably end up not going jogging by yourself.

And it’s a lot of fun (most of the times…). During the week we’re usually on the river at 06:30 a.m. (next week 05:55 as Christchurch regatta – the big race – is coming up in week 7 – I’ll keep you informed) and on weekends in the afternoon.

There is only one possible danger involved in rowing and it’s indirect. If accidentally while rowing you happen to kill a Swan, you’ll be having serious issues with the Queen Herself, since all the Swans in Britain are her private property. So if you want to vent your anger over maybe not getting the technique right, kill a goose instead (but please not me…)
