Winterleague

Hey Guys

Bad news. Christ Church Regatta will probably not take place at all due to the bad river conditions (too much water on the Isis – the Isis is actually the Thames, but in Oxford we call it Isis, sounds much more poetic and it makes me feel like one of those ancient Greek heroes, like manyworded Odysseus or Achilles, when we’re out on the river…).

The Winterleague thus remains the only race we did as novice crew and thanks to Lydia Fletcher, we have a recording of the glorious moment when we’re closing in on St. Anne’s (they actually started some time ahead of us… ).

In the 3 races we had, we were not doing too badly. Our novice stern four together with St. Peter’s first men’s stern four were actually ranked 7th (well done guys!!!) and our novice crew was ranked 17th overall but we were ranked 4th with just novice crews considered… (if you’re interested in the complete rankings: http://users.ox.ac.uk/%7Echri2327/temp/iwl0708bresults.pdf)

One last thing: watch out for my Pompom-hat…
